Instead of a cold soup, I make a protein cocktail. So good that I can drink it every day in the heat

Summer is the perfect time to use seasonal vegetables and fruits. Right now they have the most valuable vitamins and minerals and you can get them fresh on almost every corner. In addition, they are the cheapest in season and come from our own crops, and are not imported from abroad. This guarantees that we are buying the freshest and healthiest crops. Sometimes, when I go shopping at a local market, the amount of vegetables and fruits makes me not know what to choose and all in all, I come home loaded up to my ears. I eat some of them raw, like cucumbers or tomatoes, put some in jars and make preserves from cucumbers for the winter, and I make other delicacies for dinner. If I happen to buy young zucchini and peppers, I usually start preparing zucchini leczo right away.

However, it often happens that I buy more than I can eat and, not wanting the vegetables to wilt and go to waste, I prepare a delicious protein cocktail.

A protein cocktail full of vegetables

This cocktail tastes a bit like a cold soup, but it is much quicker to make and can replace breakfast with. Full of vitamins and protein, it will completely satisfy the body’s need for ingredients and give you energy for a long time. It can be prepared with your favorite ingredients or whatever you have in the fridge. Our recipe is just an inspiration for preparing your own protein cocktail. The only thing that must be in it is cottage cheese. It will bind everything together and give the cocktail density and expression, and additionally provide the right amount of protein in the meal. You can choose low-fat, semi-fat or full-fat cottage cheese. Full-fat will be the most suitable to give the cocktail a velvety consistency.

Recipe for a morning protein cocktail

So if you don’t feel like having sandwiches or scrambled eggs in the morning, prepare a blender, cottage cheese and see what vegetables you have in the fridge. In our proposal you need:

  • 250 g cottage cheese.
  • 2 small field cucumbers.
  • 1 yellow tomato.
  • 1 red tomato.
  • parsley.
  • garlic salt.
  • paprika powder.
  • black pepper.
  • Peel the cucumbers and cut them into smaller pieces. Blanch the tomatoes, remove the skin, remove the hard core, and cut them into quarters. Put the cucumbers, chopped tomatoes, add parsley, salt, paprika into a blender jug and blend until thick, velvety. Now add the crumbled cottage cheese and continue blending until you get a thick smoothie. If the consistency is too thick, you can add a few tablespoons of cold water, buttermilk or kefir. Finally, season the smoothie with salt and pepper. Serve immediately after preparation so as not to lose the most valuable vitamins.

What can you make a protein smoothie with?

The above recipe is just one of the suggestions for preparing a cocktail. In addition to the ingredients listed, you can add, depending on your preferences:

  • carrots.
  • fresh peppers.
  • celery.
  • dill.
  • garlic.
  • zucchini.
  • basil or arugula leaves.
  • broccoli.
  • A sweet protein cocktail

If you don’t like vegetable smoothies, you can replace them with sweet fruits and additives. The base is cottage cheese, and instead of vegetables, add seasonal fruits and nutrients to the blender jug. We suggest choosing from:

  • fruits (apples, pears, apricots).
  • currants, raspberries, strawberries.
  • avocado.
  • walnuts.
  • almonds.
  • seeds (sesame, linseed, oatmeal).
  • dates.
  • honey.
  • The preparation is the same as above. Throw the selected fruits and additives into a blender, add water or kefir if necessary, blend and add cottage cheese until smooth. Season the taste with honey, lemon juice or another sweetener, although the fruits themselves are already sweet enough that they may not be needed.

A glass of such a cocktail drunk in the morning will fill you up for a long time, and thanks to the presence of protein and a lot of vegetables or fruit, it will provide a large dose of vitamins and minerals.
