Much tastier than chips: how to cook potato sticks in the oven

There is a relatively healthy alternative to chips.

We are talking about potato sticks, which are quite easy to prepare.

The absence of harmful components and not deep-frying makes this snack much safer for the body than chips.

At the same time, homemade snacks are much more appetizing than potato slices fried in oil.

The recipe for an interesting snack was shared by the expert of the online publication ‘Belnovosti’ in the field of cooking, cook, fourth-category baker Yulia Arkhipova.

Potato sticks recipe

First, you need to boil 300 grams of potatoes in their skins. This stage should take about half an hour.

The finished potatoes need to be peeled and chopped. To achieve the second result, you need to use a grater (the side with small holes).

While the potato mass is cooling, combine 300 grams of flour with diced cold butter (150 grams). Use a fork to rub the mass.

Combine the two resulting masses (potato and butter-flour), salt this dough. You can add crushed garlic cloves, as well as the spices that you like.

Leave the dough wrapped in film in the refrigerator for 60 minutes.

Then return this base to the countertop. Roll out the dough. You should get a ‘sheet’ the thickness of which is about half a centimeter.

Using a knife, turn the ‘leaf’ into a set of small rectangles. These are the sticks that need to be laid out on baking sheets and put in the oven for a third of an hour. The temperature should be 180 degrees.

The result will be appetizing-looking snacks: golden and, of course, very tasty.
