Don’t rush to throw away ‘rubber’ lard, it can be saved..
We’ll tell you a life hack that will help soften even very tough lard.
How to soften lard
You’ll need: black and allspice, bay leaf, garlic and salt (one and a half tablespoons).
Put all the spices in a saucepan, pour in a liter of water, bring to a boil.
Put the lard in the brine, bring to a boil, cover the pan with a lid.
Boil the lard for 10 minutes over low heat, turn off the stove, insulate the pan and leave for 2 hours.
After this time, take the lard out of the brine, dry it, rub it with spices and chopped garlic, put it in the refrigerator.
