Whether thujas will take root in the area depends not least on what trees and shrubs will grow nearby..
We tell you which plants are unfavorable neighbors for thujas.
What you can’t plant next to thujas
Firstly, you can’t plant plants with a developed root system next to thujas, especially birch and bird cherry.
Next to these plants, the thuja will lack nutrients and will wither.
Secondly, fruit trees and shrubs – pear, cherry, apple, gooseberry, raspberry, currant – cannot be planted next to thujas.
Thujas emit substances that have a negative effect on fruit crops.
The distance between thujas and fruit trees/shrubs should be at least 6 meters.
