How much sugar and salt do you need when rolling tomatoes: a recipe from Soviet housewives

You will need:

  • tomatoes 2 kg.
  • onion.
  • garlic 3 cloves.
  • dill 1-2 umbrellas.
  • currant and cherry leaves 2-3 pcs.
  • salt 2 tbsp.l.
  • sugar 4 tbsp.l.
  • vinegar (9%) 4 tbsp.l.
  • How to cook

    1.Wash the tomatoes and pierce them with a fork or toothpick (the skin will not burst from the hot marinade).

    2.Place cherry and currant leaves, chopped garlic, onion cut into rings, dill umbrellas, and then tomatoes at the bottom of a clean 3-liter jar.

    3.When ready, pour boiling water over everything, leave for 8-10 minutes, pour the water into a saucepan, bring it to a boil, add vinegar, salt and sugar.

    4.The jars are filled with hot marinade, rolled up, turned over and left covered until they cool down.

    Afterwards you can put it away for storage.
