Expert of the online publication ‘BelNovosti’, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh shared simple instructions for propagating succulents..
1. First of all, you will need to remove several lower leaves from the stem of the succulent.
Be careful – you should tear off the leaf, slightly shaking it from side to side.
2. After this, place the leaves in a pot with soil, which should be moistened in advance.
You don’t need to bury the end of the leaf too deep – just immerse it in the soil to a depth of 0. 5-1 cm, leaving the front side facing up.
3. Be patient and wait for the moment when the leaf takes root and a new sprout.
The waiting time depends on what kind of succulent you are dealing with – as a rule, this process takes from several days to a week.
4. When you see that the leaf has lost its elasticity and wilted, you can separate it from the new sprout and replant it in the ground to get another plant.
If you leave the leaf in the soil, several new sprouts may appear nearby.
